The Data We Collect and What We Do with It

  • Your account details. We use your mobile phone number to protect your account and also to notify you of important changes. When you use Hello Meet without the app, we send you texts to let you know what is happening in your group.

  • Your profile. To tell other members of your groups who you are, we need your given name and your surname. You can enter a pseudonym or your real name – it's entirely up to you.

  • Scheduling your meetings. The idea behind Hello Meet is to make setting up meetings really simple. You can set up and name groups, post your availability and write text messages. We process this data automatically to help you schedule your meetings and to let you know what is happening in your groups. To improve our service to you, we evaluate this data using pseudonymisation.

  • Your contacts. We need the names and mobile numbers of the people you wish to invite. If participants do not respond to your invitation, we remove them from your groups and delete their data (mobile phone number, given name and surname) after 4 weeks.

  • Feedback. If you provide us with Feedback, we will store it for 2 weeks and then anonymise it. If you ask us to contact you in connection with your feedback, we will store it until such time as we no longer need to refer to it.

  • Logs. We receive data whenever you view content on our website or use Hello Meet. Your browser provides us with data such as your IP address, but also the date and time of your visit, the browser type, operating system and device information. To improve our service to you, we evaluate this data using pseudonymisation.

Data Stored on Your Device

When you log in, we place a key in your browser's memory ("local storage") which allows us to identify you.

We also store messages and availability information on your device that have not yet been sent. We do this to ensure that you can continue writing messages and adding/removing availabilities even if your internet connection fails. As soon as your connection to the internet is restored, the messages and availability information are sent to our service and deleted from local storage.

Most browsers delete the data held in local storage when you delete cookies.

Data Sharing

We do not use Google Analytics or other tracking services.

We use the following third-party service providers to collect and process personal information:

  • MessageBird B.V. for sending texts. MessageBird stores data on servers in the European Union. Privacy Statement
